Privacy Policy
Effective October 25, 2026
The short version
- We do not collect any information about you or your child. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking and no chat.
- Everything the game saves (names, word lists, progress, coins and recordings) stays on your own device.
- Nothing leaves the game unless a grown-up chooses to send it, for example by sharing a word list or saving a backup.
Who we are
Spelling MVP is a spelling game for children about 6 to 10 years old, on this website and in the Spelling MVP apps. It is made by the developer of Spelling MVP ("we"). You can reach us at maejrdevelopers@gmail.com.
Information we collect
None. We do not ask for, receive or store any personal information from children or from parents. We do not sell or share information, because we do not have any. We do not show ads, and we do not use analytics, advertising identifiers or third-party tracking tools in the game.
What the game saves on your device
To work, the game keeps the following in the storage of the browser or app on your own phone, tablet or computer. It is not sent to us.
- Each player's name and team name, as typed in the Parent Zone (a first name or nickname is all the game needs).
- School word lists, test dates, the child's grade and other settings.
- Progress: words practiced, practice test scores, days played, points, coins, gear, trophies and badges.
- Word recordings, if a grown-up records words in their own voice.
Photos or screenshots used with Scan a list are read on the device to find the words. The picture is not uploaded and is not kept after the words are added.
To delete everything: use Remove for a player or Reset ALL progress in the Parent Zone, clear this site's data in your browser settings, or uninstall the app.
When something can leave the game
Nothing is ever sent automatically. Backups and list sharing are in the Parent Zone, behind the grown-ups question.
Backups
Move to another device makes a backup file or a block of text with every player's progress. It goes only where you choose to save or send it.
Sharing a word list
Share this list makes a link or QR code containing only the words, their sentences and the test date. The list is stored in the part of the link after the # sign, which browsers do not send to our website, so we never see it. Anyone you give the link to can see those words.
Copy and print
The progress report and practice test results can be copied or printed, so a parent can send them to a teacher. The text goes only where it is pasted or printed.
Computer voices
The game reads words aloud using the voices built into your browser or device. Most of these work on the device. Some browser voices, marked needs internet in the Voice setting, send the text being read (the spelling word and its sentence) to the company that makes the browser, such as Google, Microsoft or Apple, to turn it into speech. That text never includes the child's name. To keep reading on the device, choose a voice without that label. In the Android app, words are read by the phone's own text to speech.
On our website and in the app, the built-in words and their sentences are also recorded ahead of time in a natural voice. The app has every recording inside it. On the website, the game downloads a recording from our own website the first time it is needed and keeps it on the device; the download asks only for that recording and says nothing about your child. Choosing a voice other than Automatic in the Voice setting turns the recordings off.
The Android app
- The app has no internet permission, so it cannot send anything over the internet.
- It asks to use the microphone only when a grown-up taps Record to record a word, and the camera only when a grown-up uses Scan a list. You can say no and the rest of the game still works.
- If Android backup is turned on, Android may include the game's saved progress in the backup to the device owner's own Google account, so it can come back on a new phone. That backup is between you and Google; we cannot see it.
The website
The website is hosted by Cloudflare. As with any website, Cloudflare's servers receive standard technical details such as your IP address and browser type in order to deliver the pages and protect the site from attacks. We do not use this to identify anyone, and we have not added any analytics or tracking. The game does not use cookies; it saves progress in your browser's storage on your device, and after the first visit it can play without an internet connection.
Children's privacy
The game is made for children. We do not collect personal information from children, so we do not need to ask for a parent's consent to collect it. Settings, sharing and anything that leaves the game are behind a grown-ups question in the Parent Zone. There are no ads, no chat, no in-game purchases and no way for children to talk to other people. Coins are earned only by spelling and are never sold.
Payments
The game does not take payments. If we offer a paid version, payments will be handled by the app store or a payment company, and we will update this policy before anything new is collected.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update it here and change the date at the top. If a change means collecting anything new, we will say so in the app before it happens.
